Designed while he was traveling through Japan in 2013, Javier Robles’ Kyoto lighting collection is inspired by Japanese calligraphy and ancient military artifacts. The use of brass, steel and hand-blown glass, as well as its systems of central nodes, bodies and limbs, enhance the “machine-like” aesthetic of the collection. Reinforced by the movement of its arms, the combination of the material, color and shape of the fixture resembles a “bionic” form, which ultimately projects the light, silhouettes and reflections into its surroundings.
